Write a 5–7-page comparative analysis of the two films.
· Begin with a brief biographical discussion of James Baldwin (no more than one page).
· Also, provide a brief biographical discussion for each filmmaker (1-2 paragraphs).
· Point out both similarities and differences between each documentary.
· Please identify any elements of the African Oral Tradition in each film and provide
specific examples of each.
· What do they each see as the purpose of each film? What role, if any, does history play in
each?
· Be sure to mention some of the prominent Black historical figures mentioned in each
documentary.
· Your paper must be double-spaced and in MLA format, meaning you must have both in- text parenthetical citations AND Works Cited.
· At least three (3) sources are required, including the two films. Each source must be cited both in the body of your paper and the Works Cited at the end of your essay.
