Your primary task in the term paper will be to investigate a social phenomenon or current event through sociological theories of gender, race, and class. You are not required to add a title page or abstract. Please include research sources in-text and a References list in APA style on an additional page. Your final product will be a 6-8-page double-spaced paper with an intro, body, and conclusion and 8 research sources total. In your paper, you are expected to apply sociological theories / ideas discussed in class to understand how gender, race, class, (or related areas of identity such as ethnicity, nationality, citizenship status, sexual orientation, or religion) shape our world today.
By the final draft, you will to have expanded your analysis into the required 6-8 double-spaced pages, (not including the References list). In the final version of the term paper, (and the final version), you must incorporate ideas from at least:
2 course readings from the Andersen & Collins (2016) course reader
5 scholarly journals or books (Or 2 online or print newspapers or magazines and 3 scholarly journals or books (if you are analyzing a current event))
1 media clip (i.e. – the TedTalk, documentary, podcast, or other reputable media source that you analyzed in Written Reflection #3). Choose a new media source if the 1st is not applicable to your paper.

My topic for this paper is ‘Anti-Arab and anti-Islamic sentiments that arose after 9/11’ and the specific research question I am exploring is ‘How did society construct a negative image of all Arabs and Muslims
