Each student will write one formal paper based on one of the following questions:
Should sport be segregated by sex?
Should the Olympics revise its transgender athlete policy to be more inclusive?
Should college athletes be paid?
Should Native American Mascots be banned in all sports?
Should football be banned to preserve men’s health?
Should athletes remain politically neutral?
Should taxpayers fund athletic stadiums?
In this paper, you must take a position on the question posed. This position should be supported with both course materials and a few (A minimum of two) outside sources (including at least one academic and one popular news source). A rubric is attached below and should be used a guide. Papers will be at least 5 full pages, double-spaced. Students need to identify, define, and explain at least four concepts, theories and or ideas in their paper. The paper is worth 200 points.
