What makes these works representative of the time period between 1300 and 1600?

You will find many works of art from Giotto to Titian in your text in the Renaissance chapters. Your essay should ONLY deal with those chapters for this essay. Take the 8 most representative works to which you are attracted. Hopefully select a few of the artists you know nothing about, or we did not have time to cover, but find yourself drawn to and find intriguing..

What makes these works representative of the time period between 1300 and 1600? What new techniques, myths, humanist ideas, Christian concepts, for example, influenced their thinking and creations?

You can select any artist and there are quite a few: Giotto, Brunelleschi, Michelozzo, della Francesca, Alberti, Donatello, Massaccio, Raphael, Bramante, Bellini, Leonardo, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Perugino, Mantegna, di Cosimo, Titian, Romano, Pontormo, Correggio and others.

Try to avoid doing the most well known and obvious one–instead, try reaching out and examining works you did not know about on your own and have just discovered.

Organize your essay in time periods, and use names, dates, art vocabulary, good paragraph structure, a few quotes when necessary. You do not need to cite your sources for this.
