Regardless of which of the following options you choose, I expect carefully edited and proofread prose. You have three options for this assignment:
Submit a writing assignment (or presentation notes) that you drafted for a graduate class in your field that includes a one page explanatory memo describing the purpose of the assignment.
Write a description (no more than one page) of two or three genres of writing that graduate students in your field are expected to master. (You are welcome to talk with other graduate students or your professors if you do not already have a strong sense of this.)
Write a 500-1000 word review of a book published in the last ten years in your field (drafted for an interdisciplinary audience who would have some general knowledge of the field but would not be specialists).
