Write a research paper in which you investigate and evaluate the theories of two writers that we have studied this term. Remember that your paper must present an argument—not just a summary of different theorists’ ideas on a single topic.

1) Several of the theorists we have studied this term discuss the role and function of the author in literature. Write an essay in which you compare/contrast the work of two theorists who address the role/function ofthe author. How do they define the author? What is the relationship between the author and the text? The author and his/her context? The author and the reader/criticism? What is their overall purpose for defining/redefining the role/position of the author? With whom do you agree/disagree and why?
