A good research paper must have high quality, reliable information. In the second part of this assignment, you will identify and describe at least 10 different sources that you will use in researching your puzzle. The goal of this assignment is for you to demonstrate your ability to conduct research using a variety of sources, including scholarly sources.
Follow the instructions below for this portion of the assignment:
Find at least 10 different sources that you will use in your research paper. You may provide more than 10 sources. Your sources must include:
At least 1 primary source – this could be a government document, a novel written by a citizen of the country you are studying, a newspaper from the region that is in a language that you can read, et
At least 4 scholarly journal articles published after 1990 – make sure it is not a news periodical (i.e. Time and the Economist are NOT scholarly journals)
At least 3 scholarly books that include at least 1 ‘area studies’ (region/country specific) book on the politics of the country involved in your case
At least 2 internet source other than an encyclopedia. Ideally, it should be specific to your country or topic.
2. List your sources in APA format. The Purdue Owl is a good source for reference help. (http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/ (Links to an external site.))
3. In your own words, annotate (describe) each source. In a full paragraph, describe what sort of information or argument is contained in the source. Identify what part of the paper you think the source might help you research (background for your puzzle, answer your thesis, etc.).
Note: Please divide sources by category (primary source, scholarly article, etc)
A note on plagiarism: Make sure that the work you submit is in your own words! Do not simply cut and paste. Any plagiarized work will receive a grade of zero! The VeriCite app will check your work against online sources.
