In light of the challenges we are facing due to the Coronavirus

In light of the challenges we are facing due to the Coronavirus, I have added an additional topic for you to end the semester with….please feel free to reach out to me with any questions – and, if you are not comfortable writing about the CoronaVirus, no worries…the original topic remains!

Here is the prompt for the second choice for your final paper. It is lengthy and I am perfectly happy if you use the topic/prompt as a springboard:

Well, now it is your chance to tell YOUR STORY – and how you are coping with the pandemic – CoronaVirus…This is your real, true story – and it will be original! Think about that!!

For starters, take a look through this link from The New York Times – if you find something interesting, make sure you reference the reading…I would like some sort of outside reading referenced in your final paper!

Then, be sure to take a look in the Pages Tab – I have posted additional food for thought. This essay = #4 – should be your best essay for the semester!

In light of the CoronaVirus that has disrupted (to put it mildly) life as we knew it just a year or so ago, I feel it would be a wise and compelling topic for you to write about the hurdles thrown your/our way since this sweeping virus has struck.

For your final essay, write a thoughtfully developed essay pivoting or grounded in the Coronavirus. Discuss the virus, its implications, and how it has affected our lives as we once knew them to be. Had you even heard the words, “Social Distancing” prior to the March 2020 outbreak?

There is an essay titled, “Life is Like Running Hurdles: Sometimes You have to Go Over Lots… of Hurdles…” This essay was written by a student athlete (a hurdler) but perhaps you can identify with the jumping over hurdles idea…or perhaps you can ground your essay in how quickly things can change and what changes you have encountered due to this pandemic.

You might want to include a bit of contextual research in your opening paragraph- perhaps you want to share an anecdote or personal incident – consider where in this storm of clouds there is a “silver lining.” When life drops you lemons, make lemonades…what can you do with these ideas? Write about them!!!

First you might want to simply list the changes that have directly affected you (on-line courses, for one) either in the workplace, school (obviously) and home…Make your introduction personal but informative…

Thus, for your final essay, center focus on the CoronaVirus (Covid19) and how you are dealing with it…and/or how others are dealing with it…

If you wish to discuss this topic with me, please let me know…I can open a Zoom for discussion and/or email you as you draft your final — and your best paper!

Here is a NY Times article that is compelling – feel free to reference it in your paper:

Additional food for thought for “new” prompt – Essay Four
How is the coronavirus affecting your life — physically, socially and emotionally? What changes have you, your friends, family and community experienced? What has been the most difficult aspect for you?

Are you and your family practicing any forms of social distancing? If yes, which ones and why?

What helps you deal with all the changes brought about by the coronavirus outbreak? How do you cope with feelings of isolation and loneliness?

The New York Times has been asking students for reactions to how the coronavirus has impacted their lives…some things to consider as taken from one of their articles:

Students were asked: how their lives have changed since the onset of this pandemic. They told us about all the things they miss, what it’s like to learn online, and how they’re dealing with the uncertainty. But, they also pointed out the things that have brought them joy and peace amid the chaos.

Take some of these items and sift through them…perhaps you can use some of these ideas for a thoughtful paragraph…or two!

And, another issue: How can we help one another during this time?

Some food for thought!

1.It must be in MLA style
2. Please No plagiarism she ready check for that.
3. If you can add that I work in the hospital when covid broke out
4 please have references from the articles
5. Far as school I love the idea of being on line
6 Working in the hospital I was afraid to bring covid home to my family
