ASSIGNMENT- Overview of the Court System: The “mission” here is to thoroughly describe the court system in the jurisdiction where a
student lives (or works). The papers should, at a minimum, address the organization, jurisdiction, duties, responsibilities,
management, and administration of the court system. Students should compare and contrast their court systems to the
material/topics addressed in the text book. Both federal and state courts must be discussed, as well as any other
“specialty” courts (e.g., Family Court, Juvenile Court, Drug Court, etc). This assignment is worth up to 20 points.
