Select an interpersonal relationship from ( a film, TV show, or book to answer the following prompts):

Identify the communication climate of the relationship. Be creative and think of the weather metaphors you could use – what is the temperature, air quality, humidity, and other related factors you could use to describe the relationship?
Describe and explain the confirming and/or disconfirming communications that created and now maintain this climate. You should include at least three different types of communication messages. Be sure to include both verbal and nonverbal communication.
Identify and explain how the communication climate was created using the concept of a “spiral” (page 353).
Describe what you (or the characters for option 2) can do either to maintain and enhance the existing climate (if it is primarily positive) or to improve it (if primarily negative) and be sure to include both verbal and nonverbal messages.

Responses should be at least 4 full pages and no more than 7.
The response will be submitted on our Canvas page and should be a Word document or PDF format.
Your response should include at least two clear and correct paraphrase citations to the textbook readings or the modules. Place the citations into your own words, no direct quotes).
Grading Criteria and Feedback Response Time:
The assignment is worth a total of 50 points.
Each of the 4 prompts above will be worth 10 points each for 40 points total. An excellent (10) prompt response displays student learning objectives attained, uses course concepts correctly, offers evidence of application to example used, and overall quality and insight.
10 points will be for the quality of writing in the paper and clear paraphrased citations to the readings (textbook and module, at least 2).
Please allow up to two weeks from the due date for professor feedback.
Late papers will be accepted up to one week after the due date with a late point deduction (20%).
