Differences Between The workers and clients perspective

Course Assignment
The student is to meet with a worker and client from a local resource that deals with one of the populations listed in this module. The student is to interview both people and gain their perspective on what to do and what to avoid when working with that particular group.
Students should not interview people from a group they are associated with.
The student should have at least:
· 5 tips on what to do from the worker perspective
· 5 tips on what to do from the client perspective
· 5 tips on what to avoid from the worker perspective
· 5 tips on what to avoid from the client perspective
They should indicate if there were differences between the worker’s a client’s perspectives, and identify if there are reasons for the discrepancy (ie: client wants hot meals every day, worker wants to limit access to meals to either not foster dependency)
Finally, the student should articulate what barriers they would have in working with this group, any biases they have towards them and what they would have to do/change/work on in order to be effective with this group.
On day 13, the students will present their papers to the class by providing a verbal summary of their paper and discussing the interviews they conducted and their comments on the experience as a whole.
The assignment should have:

Body (Minimum 5 pages)

Bibliography
Students will be graded on:
Content – 30 marks
Clarity & Insight – 30 marks
Readability – 20 marks
Class Presentation– 10 marks
Grammar – 10 marks
Total: 100 marks
