Background
(2 points) – describe in clear language
the genesis of the project, including any historical issues that preceded this
paper. In a sentence or two, at the end of the section, describe what the
research actually is in the project.
Methods (5 points) – there are 3
sections here.
Study sample –
describe what the experimental group will be, as well as controls if utilized.
Describe where the sample might come from.
Study design –
based on your readings, describe the type of study you propose – experimental,
cohort, cross-sectional, etc.
Statistical
Analysis – not too much detail here, just a general approach as to how you will
analyze your data. More detail may be expected in the final (Week 8) draft.
Results – (2 points) – you will not
have results, of course, but try to describe how the results will be presented,
eg, so many became ill, so many did not, etc.
Discussion (2 points) – without
results, of course, no significant discussion is possible; however, in this
section describe how the results obtained might effect medical practice or
health policy as well as ideas for further research.
References (4 points) – provide in
proper APA format at least 5 references for this project.
It might be
helpful for you to review the format of some research papers you can identify
on the internet, as well as the PICOT system.
Spelling and
grammar will be graded.
