Both Descartes and the Transcendentalists placed a great
deal of emphasis on “nature”, but understood it quite differently.
Write an essay that (1) compares and contrasts what nature means
to Descartes and what it means to Emerson, and
(2) evaluate their views in terms of which seems to make the most
sense to you and why.
Make sure to support the claims you make in your essay with
