Analytical Paper: The Arab Spring uprisings have experienced mixed results. In some instances (e.g. Tunisia and Libya) long-standing authoritarian regimes collapsed, while in other cases revolts either failed to gain sufficient traction (Bahrain) or descended into a violent stalemate between the state and its opponents (e.g. Syria). Choosing one case where the regime has been overthrown (Tunisia or Libya) and one case where the regime has not been overthrown (Bahrain or Syria), analyze, compare and contrast the variables that explain the differences in the outcomes of your two cases. Your paper should be 10-15 pages in length, and must be thoroughly researched using at least 10 separate sources from recognized academic search engines (e.g. Jstor; Academic Search Complete; CIAO) and accurately cited (see below). Failure to fully and accurately cite your sources will result in a failing grade for the paper. You must submit your paper to me online, via Turnitin.
