Write a research on an HCIS-related topic, for example a step-by-step lesson on completing a specific task within Cerner (or other EMR).
The final teaching project includes three parts:
1. Final PowerPoint (or Prezi) Slides (50pts): 10-15 slides which take your audience through the step-by-step of completing a task within the EMR. Be sure to state your learning objectives and use at least four screenshots from the EMR (or record a demo – see below). Also be sure to appropriately cite any sources.
2. Final Assessment (20pts): Create a 5 question quiz, using a variety of multiple choice, multiple select and true/false. Include your questions at the end of the PowerPoint or in a separate word document. If including within your PowerPoint, these would be in addition to your 10-15 teaching slides.
3. Teaching Project Video (30pts): Record yourself presenting your PowerPoint slides. You can do this in any of several ways:
Slides mixed with video of yourself speaking
Slides with voice-over only
For 10pts extra credit: Either of above, plus a recorded demo of the EMR (similar to the PowerChart demo)
You can use Zoom
Actions
or Yuja (Links to an external site.) to accomplish any of the above, or other video capture tool of your choice. The total presentation time must be at minimum 10 minutes, and at maximum 20 minutes. Make sure to practice so you don’t go over or under.
