The Cask of Amontillado

I need an OUTLINE FIRST then the full essay.

I will post the outline example in the files and I will post the material as well as notes on the story.

Instructions for actual essay.
1. The final essay should be a minimum of 500 words; you should have a Works Cited page. You should have a minimum of five (5) quotes throughout the paper.

2. Minimum word length: 500 Words with a minimum of five (5) phrase citations from the story within the paper. Without the citations, you have not completed the assignment of a critical analysis.

3. Paper should be written using MLA. Times Roman, double spaced with in-text parenthetical citations and a Works Cited page. The Works Cited page should follow the example in the announcements. We will work more on citing and the Works Cited with the research paper.

4. Write in third person, PRESENT tense. Do NOT shift at any time to the second person YOU.

5. Paragraphs should include an introduction with a clear, three-point thesis statement, a minimum of 3 body paragraphs that support your points in your thesis statement, a conclusion, and works cited page.

6. A summary (re-telling) of the story is not an acceptable critical essay and will receive a 0 for the assignment. You will need to tell a small bit of the story to discuss it, but do not tell the story from beginning to end. I have read the story. Tie your ideas together to give your essay a point you are making about your literary term.

7. In the introduction, make sure that you give the authors name, the title of the story, and also the definition of the term that you are going to be discussing. Make your introduction interesting.
8.Since we have one story, once you mention the title of the story in the introduction, there is no need to keep repeating the title in other paragraphs unless maybe it is the conclusion.

9. Do not use secondary sources (sources and information from the Internet). The only source that you may use is the story itself. Make sure that you have a mixture of sentence quotes from the story as well as phrase quotes.
