Explain the context of the speech (the where, when and why the speech was given).

Your paper must have a minimum of FIVE PARAGRAPHS using the following format:
FIRST PARAGRAPH – Introduction.
Begin with a paragraph that captures the readers’ attention. Perhaps mention something interesting about the speaker, the context of the speech, the event, the moment in history, the audience, or the theme of the speech.
Provide a thesis statement declaring the primary purpose of your paper including the speech you are analyzing.
Preview the major points that your essay will cover.
SECOND PARAGRAPH – Body I
Provide your overall impression of the speech and explain the content of the speech (the what the speech was about).
Explain the context of the speech (the where, when and why the speech was given).
You should mention examples in the speech you felt worked well AND examples that you believe didn’t work well.
You may use direct quotes but use no more than three direct quotes throughout the entire paper. You may paraphrase freely.
THIRD PARAGRAPH – Body II
Analyze the verbal delivery. This where terms from your textbook should be used. (And cite your textbook as a source.)
Discuss language, persuasive strategies, sources used or examples used in the speech.
FOURTH PARAGRAPH – Body III
Analyze the non-verbal elements of the speech. This is where gestures, hand movements, facial expressions, etc. are used.
Also, focus on the ethical elements of the speech and the credibility of the speaker, and how those elements appeared in the speech or the audience reactions.
FIFTH PARAGRAPH – Conclusion
Any final thoughts could be placed at the end of the fourth paragraph or an additional paragraph before the conclusion.
Signal your final paragraph with a conclusion-implying signpost, such as “In summary…,” “In conclusion…,” “Finally…,” or “To review…”
Review your main points.
End with a strong closing thought.
This is a Turnitin assignment, meaning it will be subject to a plagiarism review. Be sure to cite your sources properly.
