The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate that students are able to operationalize a
variable, collect data on the variable, chart and visually analyze the data.
For this assignment you should choose a psychosocial construct to measure on yourself (a
problem, belief, feeling, or behavior). You can use a behavior log, an individualized rating scale,
or a standardized scale to operationalize your construct and collect data with. You should collect
data every day for seven days, and then chart the data using excel.
After charting the data, write a brief summary and reaction; Discuss what construct you
measured and how you operationalized the construct. Conduct a visual analysis. Discuss
directionality and stability. Discuss your thoughts on how appropriate your measurement tool
was for collecting data on a daily basis. Finally, discuss in a few sentences what the experience
of collecting data (on yourself) was like.
