“The Importance of Diabetes Education in Texas Schools (K-12) – A Students Perspective
Diabetes is a growing concern in the USA and around the world. One of the reasons why incidence of diabetes is rising because of unawareness. Aa a society, we should promote awareness. One way to do this is to educate young people about diabetes. What is diabetes, signs and symptoms, and how can diabetes be prevented and managed?
In this essay, contestants should explain why diabetes awareness is important in schools K-12 grades. The essay must include diabetes information from research plus what they would do to educate students about diabetes in their school. (Examples may include walks, display tables and school or community presentations). Essays that include any contestant led activities and information from teachers, nurses, doctors, dieticians, classmates, or anyone they know with diabetes will be given more credit in this contest.
