Career and Business Project Report (100 points): While the Inquiry Rationale Paper was the opportunity for students to begin to critically think about higher education and career opportunities, the Project Report is a more in-depth exploration and point of discovery toward a plan of action for each students future in career and business. The purpose of this report is to address the findings from internet-based research that will help form the basis of your career and education major decisions toward seeking employment (this includes career advancement or a career change) and pursuing advanced business studies at the university level. Within the report, students will discuss the business knowledge gained throughout the semester.
The report will be presented in three sections using the following headers:
CAREER AND BUSINESS,
LEARNING AND HIGHER EDUCATIONAL PURSUITS
PERSONAL REFLECTIONS
The final report will address the following:
CAREER AND BUSINESS Describe the roles, employment positions, and career areas of focus you researched throughout the semester that interests you. Include a discussion of the following:
skills, knowledge, and education requirements of the roles or areas of focus.
years of work experience required to secure a job in the roles or areas of focus.
salary structure information and associated employment data based on labor projections for the next 3 5 years.
For the two businesses you spotlighted within the Inquiry Rationale Paper earlier in the semester, discuss:
the current valuation, current stock prices, and two to three years of company revenues for each business.
how well your current skills, knowledge, and education, as well as the certificate or degree you are currently pursuing through the college, will prepare or equip you to succeed in the roles or area of focus.
LEARNING AND HIGHER EDUCATIONAL PURSUITS – Using knowledge gained throughout the course about the various areas of business:
identify two (2) areas of businessor business functions(based on key concepts within at least one chapter of the course text) that interest you enough to possibly pursue more advanced business studies or career opportunities.
describe those areas of business functions as they relate to chapter content. Include internal and external factors about the function that make it important to the successful operation of the business. Be sure to incorporate internet-based research into this area and use in-text citations within the body of your work and full citations on the References page using APA format.
Discuss what you learned about the two areas of business (or business functions) and how you perceive this newfound knowledge as it relates to your possible higher educational pursuits and major. Do this regardless of whether you plan to immediately pursue higher education or might pursue higher education at some later point in life. If you believe you will not pursue higher education beyond college, then still discuss the former based on the assumption that you will pursue higher education at the Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate level.
PERSONAL REFLECTIONS In this final portion of the report, you will reflect upon those strengths and weaknesses that may impact your performance within the workplace environment, but particularly within the businesses you chose to spotlight in the Inquiry Rationale paper submitted earlier in the semester. Your reflections should:
include a discussion of the results of your learning styles assessment and how you see your learning style(s) benefitting you in future course studies with college and beyond.
include a discussion of the results of your personality assessment. Identify those strengths in your personality that will make you an ideal candidate within the roles/areas of focus you intend to pursue in the workplace. Next, identify the weaknesses of your personality type and practical steps you can take to turn the weaknesses into strengths.
identify three specific things you can do to improve your viability as a candidate for any employer who will be fortunate to hire you.

3 – 4 pages for the body of the paper. Work must be double spaced and use Arial size 12 font. Paragraphs serve a purpose, so use multiple and meaningful paragraphs. Do not submit your work as one or two massively large paragraphs.
1 References page with all sources cited using APA format. Students must use 5 sources at a minimum. (The course text can be used as one of the five sources.) Wikipedia and wiki-based sources are not permissible. Any student who uses Wikipedia or a wiki-based source will receive a failing grade for this assignment.
