21st century.
You should choose one of the following:
• a country
• a group of people who live in one country
• a minority group of any type
• a local community (candidates may be members of this community)
You will then write about the impact of one of the following key aspects on your
chosen country / group / community:
• Culture
• Inequality
• Globalisation
You need to:
1 Explain how you reached your decision about which country / group / community to
study. (100 words max)
2 Explain two reasons as to why you chose a particular key aspect of society (100
words max)
3 Write a summary (between 500-600 words) of the information you found in your
chosen sources where you
• identify three sources of information
• identify one statistic from each source of information
• explain one claim about your chosen country / group / community from each
source of information you chose
• explain two ways you would verify these claims
• for each source you chose, explain one reason you believe it is trustworthy
• for each source you chose, explain one problem you found when using the
information

4 Write an evaluation of the sources of information and reach a judgment about whether
the sources present fair and accurate information about your chosen country / group
/ community (250 words max)
