What is point of view?
Point of view can refer either to the point of view of the narrator of the story or to the point of view of the characters in the story.
1. Read the short story: “The Swimmer” by John Cheever
2. While reading the story, examine the ways the narrator presents information and describes things. Does Neddy seem reliable? Why or why not?
3. Be sure to find 2-3 pieces of evidence from the story that support your conclusions.
