Vaccines have provided much to our society as a way to control disease and deadly outcomes. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), vaccines prevent thousands of Americans from getting infected each year. They may also help bring this current pandemic to a speedier end. There have been renewed debates around the safety of vaccines, including any long-term effects, although research has debunked many of these claims. We are now seeing a widespread push for vaccine mandates. Research the issue and help separate fact from fear. Include information around policies that are mandating vaccines for COVID-19 in the same way many other vaccines are required in our society. Students will analyze a policy issue and take a position on the issue (pro or con) based on the evidence. Provide evidence for why you believe one view is more convincing than another. The paper must be at least 1,200 words (NOT including cover/reference page) in length, typed and double-spaced. You must use a minimum of three references.
