In a well-structured essay, with a clear and arguable thesis, you are to write a 7-8page final paper using at least 6-7 outside sources. At least 2 of your sources must be scholarly/peer reviewed articles.
Since the topic of Covid-19 is fairly new topic, you can use additional sources such as: E-books, films, periodicals, popular magazines, journal articles, Ted Talks, interviews and first hand-accounts.
You will also need to include a Counter-Argument (Links to an external site.) and Annotated Bibliography in Mla format (Links to an external site.) for your Final Paper.

Please begin by conducting preliminary research about your topic (Links to an external site.) which will help you to Formulate a Research Question.
Specifically, you want to access Google Scholar, One Search, and the Library Databases to get started. Also, by conducting preliminary research, it may help you to generate areas of interests for your topics.
During the Library Bootcamp, you will have an opportunity to ask questions and see these research elements put into practice. As a class, we will spend the remainder of the semester focused on the Research process.
Additionally, think about the Covid-19 related projects (essay, documentary) that you have structured this semester as an area to explore further at an more in-depth level.
Pick a topic you are genuinely interested in, as this will make your research process more enjoyable.

Student Learning: The goal of this paper is for students to learn how to conduct structured research at the College level. The goal of the research paper is to enter the conversation with other experts, whereas you become the expert as well. The research you will uncover informs your own thinking about the subject matter. This promotes critical thinking and reading skills to be used in the areas of argument, counter arguments, persuasion, and structure.
