Choose *2 works of 20th-century art pieces to describe and analyze,
situating the artifacts within their historical, social, and stylistic context.

*I want the first art piece of the paper to be on the American Gothic by Grant DeVolson Wood (first painting in this link with a little information: https://owlcation.com/humanities/20th-Century-Art-Movements-with-Timeline). I leave you to decide the second art piece to write about please just make sure it is 20th century (any art piece will do).

Make a thorough description when introducing each piece, each time!

– What are these pieces made of? What material techniques are used?
– How are these techniques historically situated? (Modernist? Traditional? Post-modern? How so?)
– Describe the overall style carefully. How did this style develop? How was it influenced?
– How does this work/artist fit within his or her movement?
– What did this work influence, in turn?
-Compare and contrast your choices, and conclude by presenting any relationships between the
objects, that you discern.
