Watch ONE of these documentaries:
Prejudice and Pride: Episode 5 of the Latino Americans (available for free on PBS.com– https://www.pbs.org/latino-americans/en/watch-videos/#2365076196)
documentary to support your point. Use the following structure:
Paragraph 1: Introduction: Include the name of the documentary and the director and provide an overview of your reaction and what you learned.
Paragraph 2: Summary. Provide a brief summary of the major points the documentary makes and what it covers.
Paragraph 3-4/5. In two to three paragraphs. Explain what you learned, how it connects to issues and events we have studied in class. Explain whether or not you find the director’s approach fair or if you think it is too biased to be trustworthy, and detail the type of sources and techniques used to tell the story. Use evidence selected from the documentary to support your ideas and interpretations.
Paragraph 5 or 6. Conclusion. Summarize your main points and describe at least one thing you would like to know more about.
The makeup assignment will be graded based on you the thoughtfulness of the critique, the use of evidence, and the clarity of the writing.
