Medical insurance is a huge difficulty for many people in the US. Recently the Affordable Care Act (aka. Obamacare) has tried to help people with who do not have access to coverage, but it has been highly controversial and was almost scrapped by Republicans two years ago. Meanwhile, others think the US needs to adopt some version of universal health care, which is the norm in most first world countries. Explain how health insurance works. Why is there a problem of pre-existing conditions? How did Obamacare try to solve this? Why do some people dislike Obamacare? In your opinion did this go too far, or not far enough? Should the US adopt a universal health care model?
