• Who played and what instruments did they play? Who sung, if anyone?
• Where and when was the concert performed?
• What style or styles of the music were performed at this concert?
• Describe in detail your overall impression of the show.
4. Middle four paragraphs (5 points per paragraph): Choose your favorite four songs,
works, or movements from a larger work that stood out for you, devoting one paragraph
for each. For live concerts, use your program to get the title and relevant information. At
the beginning of each paragraph, name the title, timing and composer/arranger. Then
follow with describing:
• The overall character of the song or work.
• Why the song or work was one of your favorites.
• With your description of your reactions to how performers performed it, use
appropriate musical terms: timbres, tempo, dynamics, style, melody, harmony, scale,
form, improvisation, form, etc.
