All of the essential elements of a short story are present, and many of the less-essential elements are, too.
The story draws the reader in. It’s consuming. The reader can’t stop reading.
The story fulfills all of the basic requirements, yes, but it goes beyond, addressing large ideas that are germane to the characters.
The story shows that it is aware of contemporary storytelling, and it exhibits the best qualities currently employed.
The story is character-based, but the plot is very well-developed, too. There’s something here for people who like all the elements of fiction.
Your tone and writing style are pleasing to read, so people actually want to read what you write.
