Gender Dysphoria is listed in the DSM V as a psychological condition where the individual experiences distressing symptoms due to being uncomfortable with their biological or anatomical sex e.g. a person who is a female but identifies as male and is not content with his/her biological/anatomical body. In the past, the diagnosis was referred to as Gender Identity Disorder. There has been some disagreement among mental health professionals and physicians as to whether or not gender identity issues should even be listed in the DSM V. Why do you think?
