Write about “innovation in the Danish military” and either investigate whether there has been innovation or whether it is a concept that is difficult to recognize. My own preconception is that there is not much innovation, but I do not know if there are texts that say otherwise.
The level I have to hit is the “operational level” (See file about) and it is divided as follows:
Political level = Ministry of Defense / Government
Strategic level: NATO / NOC
Operational level: The Defense Command
Tactical level: All units under the command of defense
I may like to change level, but just need to explain what level it is I am looking at.
Analysis: I considered using design thinking (Ends – Ways – Means) as analysis, but am also ready to use others if you find it useful within the framework.
Formalities:
Write an academic assignment that draws on the syllabus included in the module.
The assignment must answer problem formulation: Based on military design thinking, has military innovation been a success in the Danish military?
——
Comment from teacher: I
think you should have a second look at this question or at least
clarify it. First, what do you mean design thinking and how do you link
it to innovation? Do you mean the continous reflective process inherent
to design and using this to assess innovation? Why are design and
innovation linked in the question?
Second, what kind of innovation are you talking about? Conceptual, doctrinal, technological or all of them?
So
if you are looking to assess Danish military innovation you should
think about just focusing the question on innovation using one or two
specific case studies.
Then
you could use a design process to argue that the military could have
been more successful using this method. But you should consider if that
is an easy thing to argue in 10 pages.

Other guidelines:
The assignment must be on 10 standard pages (+/- 10%), where a standard page is 2,400 characters incl. spaces without footnotes and pictures, etc. The assignment must also have a front page (with name, title, number of strokes and name of author), references that do not count in the ten pages. Any table of contents also does not count in the 10 pages.
An academic assignment will typically include the following elements:
– A short introduction that sets the framework for the task and possibly. motivation
– Problem formulation (is given, cf. above)
– Boundary
– Theory
– Method
– Statement
– Analysis and discussion (emphasis in the assignment)
– Conclusion
– Possibly. brief perspective
(Items marked in bold are mandatory elements. The others can be included according to your own choice and structure of the assignment. Several elements can be covered in a section, and it is thus not expected that you make a section for each of the above elements. Remember to write the task so that an intelligent civilian non-specialist can understand your reasoning (avoid jargon and substantiate your argument, as well as remember to define your concepts and refer to the relevant literature).
Assessment The assignment is assessed on the 7-point scale on the basis of an overall assessment, but is based on the following:
– Is the problem formulation answered?
– The structure of the assignment and the rigor of analysis / discussion.
– Academic language and argumentation.
Necessary, Appropriate and Correct Use of References and Quotations (Chicago Manual of Style).
I hope it provides a lot to work with.
Of course, I have all the literature sources you need, and for your information, most teachers are academics and not soldiers.
I divide the literature sources into 2 folders, if there is more of the literature sources you want I can send it later.
