I chose to focus this essay on chapter 12: Erotic Analysis

I chose this music video for my media text.
Media Text: Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion: WAP (Work that pussy)

Main thesis: the paper endeavors to analyze the music video with theories of pleasure. The video is non-hegemonic, or transgressive, eliciting plaisir due to the way in which it transgresses and subverts norms in rap music about female sexuality. It is also dialogic because it’s intertextual: it samples Frank Ski’s “Whores in This House”. It’s particularly transgressive that the music samples a misogynistic song in a way that describes female sexuality.

Paragraph 1:
