I would like to address the severity of Canadian’s who die from cardiovascular disease every year
– and how we can make workplace environments contribute to the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
Firstly, let’s go over cardiovascular disease and what it looks like.
Then, what can the workplace do to prevent heart disease?
* Designated time for exercise
– cardio, strength training, gym pass etc
* health benefits *stress management, reg health screening
* nutrition * fruit/veg baskets, low sodium, low sugar snacks in vending machines, no soft drinks,
* no smoking on site
