In a 4–5-page paper, I want you to tell me what important things were happening during a chosen Presidental Term (listed below). This is not a report on a specific President instead I want you to tell me what is happening politically (i.e. political parties, divisions, major court cases, war, etc.), culturally/socially (i.e. Reform movements, immigration, inventions, sports, interesting people, etc.) and economically (i.e. business, market changes, tariffs, taxes, boom/bust cycles, etc.) in the United States during the term of your chosen President. You can make connections to things happening in other countries but remember that this is a United States History class and I want you to focus on U.S. History.
Try to make connections – i.e. how do the things happening politically affect the social/cultural aspects? Or how do the things happening economically affect politics? how are these events/people/things affecting us today? where do we see patterns in history?
