Write a paper that advances an argument about how to best understand a decision or set of decisions made by US elites during the Vietnam War (understand what happened in the war) using one or more of the theories that we have covered in the slides below. The paper should focus on one decision or a set of related decisions. It should clearly and accurately describe the decision being made, the theory being used to explain the decision, and develop an argument over the course of the essay about how this theory or theory helps us understand the chosen decision. To do this, it should draw on evidence from the course material about US decision-making in Vietnam. You may, optionally, draw on sources outside of this material, but you do not have to do so.
