FINAL PAPER
As seen in the syllabus for this course, there are several learning objectives or goals that you should now understand because of the learning you participated in throughout the course work.
For this final paper, you will critically examine everything you have learned throughout the semester to articulate a clear and concise understanding of your learning. Once you have taken time to reflect on everything you have learned and discovered in this course, you will be able to craft articulate, insightful, collegiate-level answers to the following questions below. Remember, this paper is worth 200 points, which is double what each assignment was worth, so it behoves you to do your best with this last paper so that you can earn the total amount of points for this class.
INSTRUCTIONAL NOTE: Your answers to each of the following questions should be specific and succinct. Do not waste any space in your paper by using ambiguous language. Be clear and concise, while still answering the questions completely without leaving important information out. You may need to do your own additional research to answer these questions fully, however if you have been thoughtful and careful in all the previous assignments, you should not need to do further research for this final paper.
In 1,500-2,000 words, identify the seven specific subjects that we covered in this course, and discuss the foundational principles and ideas that define each issue. Talk about the historical sociological problems each subject attempts to address or solve and the specific ideas each subject puts forth to call for justice and equality.
In 250-500 words, explain WHY this information in this course is important and valuable for society at large. Talk about the reasons why leaders should not only understand the subjects we studied but also care about them. Explain why you believe understanding and caring about these subjects will foster a more just and equitable society for all, and why creating that kind of a society matters.
In 200-400 words, what is the most valuable new idea or deeper understanding you gained from taking this course?
