Some readers have found Katniss Everdeen to be a very difficult
character to like, and they have trouble seeing her as heroic.
What do you think about Katniss, and do you agree that
Suzanne Collins includes such characters as Peeta and Rue to
make Katniss seem more compassionate and more human? Do
her interactions with these other characters make us like Katniss
more than we would without them in the novel?
