Topic: The effectiveness of language learning apps in developing L2
proficiency.
Outline:
Previous research examining the role that language applications such as
Duolingo play in developing L2 proficiency have shown conflicting results
(Shortt et al., 2021). Drawing on empirical studies, I will explore how various
aspects of research design contribute towards these contrasting findings.
Suggestions on how to address issues concerning research design in future
studies will also be discussed.
