Possible points to include in your paper:
-How did it develop?, Where did it come from?
– What is it used for?
– Are there multiple cultures involved?
– What other types of music and/or art influence it?
– Has it ever been associated with any social or political agenda?
– Has it spread to other parts of the world? How? When? What was the result?
– How does bias affect the music? The musicians? The listeners? Racism, ageism, homophobia, ableism, classism, etc.
Not necessary to address every topic but you could add other points of interest that fit in with the essay. I have the sources picked out already.
