Finance is a huge topic both in and out of the classroom today. The media outlets and society at large have been reporting on some unprecedented and challenging times financially. The global pandemic has to a large degree complicated this definition of finance over the past 18 months. The way in which we as individuals and corporate America in general have been making our financial decisions has changed tremendously. With that said, your final examination for this course will be to answer the following essay question incorporating into your response that which you have learned over the past 8 weeks. Explain in “no fewer” than 2000 words “what is happening in our country today from a financial/ economical perspective”. I would like your response to be broken down into 3 clearly defined paragraphs that encompass the following:
Component #1-how does the fear of a financial crisis impact an investors decision making? Meaning, in today’s environment, how does the looming fear of inflation impact your overall well being and decision making? How does risk factor into that? Now add a global pandemic into the mix and how does that further impact and/ or compromise your decision making?
Component #2- how do you think investors take advantage of a financial crisis/ inflationary times to their betterment? How have investors taken advantage of the global pandemic? Meaning, how do you and I take away something positive from a negative situation and more importantly how do we learn from that? The past 18 months have been filled with so much uncertainty. How have we turned the uncertainty into opportunity?
Component #3-how does behavioral finance impact us in todays environment? Meaning, is the general population panicking or, are they taking rational approaches to their investment and financial decision making?
Again, no fewer than 2000 words broken down by component above. The purpose and intention behind this final examination is to get you to think about things from a more macro level. The world around you, the positives, the negatives, the disciplines and the overall being of how you are impacted by the world at large.
