For the final assignment for this course, you have the option of choosing between a research
paper or project. The only requirement for this final paper/project is that you must compare and
contrast, or explore connections between at least 2 major religious traditions covered in this
class. You have to come up with the topic/research question yourself.
For example:
– The figure of Jesus in Islam and Christianity
– The rise of female Rabbis and Priests
– The mystic traditions in Judaism, Islam and Christianity
The proposal is an important step because I can give you detailed feedback on how to improve
your research question and whether the mode you have chosen for the final project will be
feasible or not.
In your research paper/project proposal, you will be giving me an overview or idea of
– The research question you will be focusing on for your paper/project
– More details on what kind of connections/arguments you will be exploring in your paper
– A minimum of 3-5 primary and ACADEMIC secondary sources you will be consulting
for your research and in what capacity you will be using it in your paper/project.
Please submit the proposal and final paper/project in either MLA or APA format. Consult
OWLPurdue for formatting guidelines.
This assignment must be a minimum of 2 pages double-spaced in Times New Roman, font size
12. Then a full essay is required after.
