What questions, issues, and problems appear repeatdly in regards to your term?

Research proposal (500 words):

After doing Preliminary Research on the term you came to terms with (grit) in Major Writing Assignment #1, now you need to formulate a research question that should guide your research. Basically, for this assignment, you need to provide your research question based off the following questions:
1. What questions, issues, and problems appear repeatdly in regards to your term? Why do people think your term in the field of education is important?
2. Are there arguements, debates, or controversies that appear in what you have read? What postions have others taken on the term you have chosen? What seems to be at stake in these arguements? Do you find yourself siding with some people and disagreeing with others in regards to the term you have chosen?
3.Is there some aspect of your topic that people do not seem to pay much attention to? Why do you think this is so? Are they neglecting questions or issues that could provide a good focus for research?
4. Given what you have read so far, what questions, issues, arguments, and controversies do you find most interesting? What, in your view, makes them important?

Now that you have formulated your research question and have performed research based on your research question which you have documented in your Annotated Bibliography, it is time for you to write a research proposal. Your Research Proposal should define the purpose of your research and should indicate your research plan. Use the model on pages 425 – 426 in The Call to Write: Chapter 13: “Doing Research: “Critical Essays, Research Papers, and Magazine Articles.”
Your Research Proposal should be no less than 500 words in length and must contain the following:
1. Identifies the general topic or problem of the research and explains its significance.
2. Presents the specific issue and the research question you are addressing.
3. Sketches briefly the research plan, indicating how it will answer the research question.

For the research question I am considering a simple question of ‘should grit be used more significantly as a metric to measure student’s success’ with a focus on the limitations of using grit as a measure of academic success. However I am also open to other ideas

Writing assignment (~1200 words):

Now that you have conducted preliminary research, formulated a research question, created a working bibliography, and have written a 500 word proposal, it is now time to start to write your research paper. Your research paper should be based on the term you chose to come to terms with in Major Writing Assignment #1. In addition, it must be no less than ~1,200 words in length. You must have at least have 3 additional sources outside of the source from the original essay or essays in which you learned the term you have choosen. You can use more sources if needed.

If possible, academic journals are a preferred source
