Students are expected to complete a 1000-word term paper on their choice of a historical topic that will be provided by the instructor. This paper is to be typed, double spaced, and submitted on CANVAS in the dropbox. The paper must correctly use at least four scholarly sources with text citation and a reference page. In preparation for the paper, you will have to complete term paper preparation (graded) assignments which will include picking a topic, a plagiarism tutorial and examination, selecting scholarly sources, and an outline.
*Important note about sources*The only acceptable sources are peer reviewed sources from the college library database. You can find these sources at https://mgccc.edu/library/. There is an abundance of information in the modules on identifying peer reviewed sources and how to cite them. Citations must appear in APA format in the text, and in an APA formatted Works Cited page. Remember that this is a collegiate term paper and not a research paper. It is supposed to be analytical as well as informative. Therefore, the sources that you choose are important. Information from academics that are peer reviewed should make up the bulk of your sources. Sources not found in the college databasewill NOT be accepted. Here is a short (not exhaustive) list of some sources that are unacceptable.
