This is a music history essay to discuss and compare the difference and similarity of the neo-classical works by Stravinsky and Hindemith, for instances, Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms, Hindemith’s Symphony “Mathis der Maler” and others. Excerpts should be cited with bar numbers provided for analysis and comparison. Some socio-economical or historical background should also be provided. Thus, this essay requires certain level of musical knowledge, preferbably written by someone who graduates with a music degree. Sources from JSTOR or Grove Music Online are recommended to be cited.
