Your Critical Reflection & Analysis should begin by first briefly identifying the main arguments addressed by the readings. You must answer the following questions:
How do the author(s) describe culture/cultural studies?
What is the main thesis from the readings?
The second part of your Critical Reflection & Analysis will focus on your understanding and engagement with the reading(s). Themes/questions to address in your Critical Reflection & Analysis can include:
What other secondary ideas emerge from the readings?
How has your understanding of culture and cultural studies shifted based upon the readings?
Was there a particular passage or argument from the reading that impacted you?
Did the readings challenge you to view culture/cultural studies in a different perspective?
What is the relationship between the issues raised by the readings and your own personal experiences?
How does experience shape your understanding of the perspectives and arguments discussed in the readings?
What have you learned from the readings about how we are influenced by, and engage with, culture/cultural practices in our everyday lives?
What did you enjoy about the readings?
What did you find interesting about the readings?
Was there an aspect of the readings that you found challenging or difficult?
What have you taken from these readings?
These questions are starting points to help guide your Critical Reflection & Analysis. You do not have to answer all these questions. They are prompts to help your reflection and analysis to encourage greater engagement with the course material.
