This week we’re focusing on the legal underpinnings of urban planning. Choose one of the famous Supreme Court cases below to conduct a legal analysis. Your analysis needs to include the following: 1) the background of the case; 2) describe the legal and constitutional issue the Court was asked to rule on; 3) what was the ruling of the Court; 4) describe the constitutional reasoning of the majority opinion of the Court; 5) was there a dissenting opinion and what was it; 6) do you agree/disagree with the Court’s ruling and why (be sure to use legal reasoning in your analysis) and how it affects urban planning. This assignment should be 4 pages long.
