review of “child play”

Limit to approx. 250 words. Any citation needs its page number. Block quotations and bibliography are excluded from the word limit.
Limit to one topic. A deep, coherent, and concise discussion is highly evaluated.
The quality will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Comprehension of the reading (Does your discussion engage with the main theme(s) of the story?; do you understand the story in its entirety?)
Depth of analysis (Are you able to engage with the text in-depth?; do you perform a close analysis on a specific scene with concrete examples/evidence?; Your analysis needs to be beyond the general discussion of the entire text and the mere description (what’s happening/being said) of your chosen specific scene. It is highly evaluated to focus on how it is being said (i.e., rhetorical and literary/visual techniques) and then link it to the main theme(s) of the entire story.)
Knowledge of the contexts of and/or the existing discussions on the reading (Are you attentive to lectures/readings?; Are you able to connect your discussion to the cultural/historical contexts? Your discussion needs to academically contribute to the existing discussions on the topic regardless of whether you agree or disagree with them.); proper citation with page numbers is required.
Originality of interpretation (Are you offering new insights/perspectives?)
Format (Do you follow the instructions? Any citation needs its page number; block quotations and bibliography are excluded from the 250-word limit.)
Like an academic essay, your post will be highly evaluated if it has a proper topic title, a brief introduction with a strong and interesting thesis and a body with close analysis on a specific scene (and, if possible, a conclusion). Posts with no actual substance or off-topic posts will not earn any points.
