Management of self-injurious behavior in Adolescence

The structure of the paper should include an introduction with a history and/or context of the issue, a review of the current literature, implications for practice, and a conclusion. Papers should use APA format with a title page and abstract. Students should write the paper in third person, as if submitting to a clinical or academic journal. Internal citations and the reference page must be in accordance with APA format.

At least five (5) scholarly journal article references are required in addition to the use of this course’s textbook. Scholarly references must be from professional literature published within the past ten years.

Section 1 : Introduction: Issue is clearly described, including a history and/or context. (suggested 1-2 pages)

Section 2 : Review of the Literature: A thorough review of the literature is presented, using research articles. The literature review should appropriately critique the research and effectively connect the studies used.
Section 3 : Implications for practice: Relevance of the issue is discussed in the psychiatric practice setting, which could include inpatient, outpatient, consultation/liaison, community mental health, and/or private practice. (suggested 2-4 pages)
Section 4 : Conclusion: The paper is adequately and effectively summarized.
