We have become so interdependent economically and politically, but do we recognize our moral responsibility to people who are not our citizens? Should we? Why or why not?

For example, in the pursuit of wealth and prosperity, we may trade for oil with authoritarian regimes that oppress their citizens. By providing that regime with financial resources, we are contributing to its reign of terror. Are we also culpable? Explain.
Do we have any responsibility for the impact of our personal economic decisions on other countries? If so, what is our responsibility? While purchasing a good made in another country may ensure someone in that country has an income they may not otherwise have, they may be working in a sweatshop under dangerous conditions. Or the phone we purchase may have been made with raw materials that were sold to support violent conflict. What is our moral responsibility as consumers? Explain.
