EXPLAIN WHY NURSE REFUSING MANDATED COVID VACCINE- UTILITARIANISM AND BENEFICENCE APPLLICATION.

RESPOND TO THIS: “A nurse is refusing to get the covid but mandated by her employer became aggressive and irritable. Though people generally have the right to have decisions about health interventions, vaccines are a difficult ethical grey area—especially for healthcare workers—because opting not to receive a vaccine puts others at risk and increases the likelihood that a virus can spread and mutate (Dinkins & Sorrell, 2021). Healthcare workers are especially likely to interact with people who are immune compromised and may be at elevated risk for contracting a virus. To respond to this encounter, I did my best to validate the patients’ feelings while also providing evidence and education about the vaccine. I considered utilitarianism and beneficence as ethical principles in providing vaccine-positive education, as a healthcare worker getting vaccinated has potential to protect others. How would you react to this by applying utilitarianism and beneficence principle?
